What proof usually looks like
Your letter sets what to show and by when. Match each item on it to records like these:
- Readable copies of your registration papers, past and current.
- Readable copies of your installation and financial assurance certifications.
- The technical records that apply to your tanks, such as release detection and testing records.
- All of it kept in one safe place at the site, or where the rule allows if it cannot be kept on site.
Common mistakes
- Records kept at a main office when the rule asks for them at the site.
- Copies that are faded or hard to read.
- Old registration or certification papers thrown away. The rule keeps some for the life of the tank system.
- Nobody at the site knows where the records are when an investigator asks.
